There are many challenges facing our Planet

Global climate challenges necessitate innovative and collaborative solutions

Persistent environmental degradation and biodiversity loss

Increasing frequency and severity of extreme weather events and climate extremes

Accelerating ice melt in the Antarctic, signaling rising sea levels and global climate instability

There's more to the story...

Inequities in climate impacts and resource distribution

Lack of widespread climate literacy and awareness

Mental health concerns arising from climate anxiety

Global efforts falling short of international climate goals

Rationale for the inception of GCA

"Current efforts to address climate change are often fragmented and insufficiently informed by the latest research."

- Poulomi Chakravarty, Ph.D.
Founder of the Global Climate Association

A journey towards climate resilient world

To address climate change and its myriad challenges, understanding the causes, impacts, affected stakeholders, and potential solutions is crucial.

This comprehensive understanding can be achieved through the creation of open-access knowledge banks, integrating diverse knowledge sources. These sources encompass insights from indigenous communities, scientific research, knowledge centers, and government bodies. Effective communication of this amalgamated knowledge is essential for maximizing its benefit.

Climate Communication Channels©

The GCA introduces the Climate Communication Channels© (3C) framework, proposed by its founder Poulomi Chakravarty (2023), as a pioneering approach to actualize this vision.

The 3C model, developed primarily for climate education, emphasizes the importance of integrating AI with Natural world and Indigenous Knowledge systems. It provides a conceptual template for collaborative, knowledge-based climate solutions. At its core, the 3C framework involves gathering and validating Indigenous and local knowledge, and then dynamically translating these insights into practical strategies through community-engaged education and capacity building.

Our model fosters partnerships across public, private, and civil society sectors, ensuring that adaptation solutions are culturally and geographically relevant. The 3C model is a paradigm for participatory development of climate resilience solutions, synthesizing diverse ways of knowing and empowering communities at the forefront of climate change. About the GCA

Home / About

The Global Climate Association is committed to advance climate awareness.

Global Climate Association is an international climate body founded to disseminate complex scientific information towards literacy causes such as Technology for Social Good, public science communication, and advocacy for climate action and #WomeninSTEM.It was founded by environmentalist and STEM educator Poulomi Chakravarty, PhD, and is run independently for a greater cause as a knowledge processing organization.

Founder's Message

"I have always been conscious of the impact we make on our surrounding environment mostly because I was encouraged to witness the nature in its elements by my father since I was a little girl. As I grew up I became aware that not everything was right with this beautiful natural world of ours and we the humans are the reason why! I entered the field of Environment and Climate Sciences to support mother nature to protect our planet by creating awareness among our community, to speak up for the voiceless and help the existing population of living beings on this planet live a life of harmony and good health.Climate is the essence of survival of the existing life of our planet, so join hands with us in protecting our precious planet against climate change and its disastrous impacts" - Poulomi

She is the Executive Coordination Team member and the Digital Platform Manager of the South Asian Meteorological Association (SAMA), and the Climate Educator at Edsutra Online Learning.
